New Solution to an Old Problem
If you hang out with fishermen and listen to their conversations, you will soon discern three ideas that form the foundation of the angling community’s beliefs.
• Each angler wants improved fishing, which means more fish and bigger fish.

Six Workshops Teach Management Techniques for Problem Canada Geese
If Canada geese have become a problem on your property, plan to attend one of six programs to be presented in March by the DNR's Urban Wildlife Project.
Various aspects of Canada goose management, including relevant laws, basic biology, and methods to control damage from geese will be covered. A special workshop on proper techniques for egg and nest destruction follows. Such instruction is necessary because if eggs are simply broken or completely removed, there will be no lasting effect; females will just lay another clutch of eggs.
Senior Fishing Licenses Now Available
Senior fishing licenses can now be purchased at most DNR property offices, sporting good stores, bait shops or online at IndianaOutdoor.IN.gov.
Effective April 1, Indiana residents age 64 and older and born after March 31, 1943, will need either a $3 annual senior fishing license (which is lower than any neighboring state's fee), or a one-time $17 Fish for Life senior license when fishing Indiana’s public waters.

The Department of Natural Resources has recognized 22 anglers for outstanding fish caught in 2007. One state record was broken and 21 anglers were awarded Fish of the Year honors.
Each year, the DNR tracks the largest fish of more than 50 species caught with hook and line in Indiana.

Outdoorsman Exchange - Trading Chases
The idea for Outdoorsman Exchange came about in an instant, but in a way it was sometime in the making – we just didn’t realize it at the time.
For years my husband, Paul, has wanted to go on an elk hunt. I’ve encouraged him many times. He and his brothers talk how they should all go elk hunting out west with their Dad before age took its toll on him. Pursuit of that dream sounded good but there was always the financial reality check that held my husband back. He couldn’t justify spending money on a guided hunting trip and felt a guided trip was the only way to go for a successful hunt. This voice inside kept telling him - we need to save money for more sensible things like kids braces, college funds, etc. Most everyone can relate to these thoughts, unless you’re an heir to a fortune.
